What does it mean when happiness lurks in an unexpected encounter? What is the relationship between work, depression and happiness? And does nature make the city happier? Can a different definition of happiness offer new perspectives for the future? In 2016, the Stedelijk Museum 's-Hertogenbosch launched the three-year art program 'Reinventing Happiness', in which the museum, together with artists Sjaak Langenberg and Rose de Beer, artist Jeanne van Heeswijk in collaboration with theatre maker Paul De Bruyne and artist Frank Bruggeman, museum visitors and residents of 's-Hertogenbosch, has been looking for new social and sustainable forms of happiness.
